CAPSULECTOMY/OTOMY/OROPHY  

Capsular contracture is the term used to describe scar tissue that can form around breast implants which may cause the breasts to harden, to look or feel different and may cause some discomfort from the tightening of the capsule.

Capsulectomy is the surgical removal of scar tissue, or capsule that has become thickened and hardened around a breast implant. The capsule is composed of fibroblast, collagen and blood vessels and is known as capsular contracture.
